  • Hook - streamer 3X sizes 2 - 10

  • Body - black chenille
  • Wings - four dyed black hen saddle hackles tied down-over body with the rib
  • Hackle - black hen or saoft rooster hackle
  • Eyes - painted yellow with a black pupil (optional)

Comments - Long hen neck butt hackles can be substituted for the black hen saddle hackles.

Colonel Bates

  • Wings - (inside to outside) - two yellow saddle hackles, two white saddle hackles 3/4 the length of the yellow, teal flanks 1/2 the length of the white

Comments - The original pattern called for wings as two saddle hackles olive under and two dun grey over. This was later changed to four oive dun saddles. Lately all dun saddle hackle seems to be the norm.Grizzly King

Comment - White and black marabou muddlers are ited the same except the appropriate color of marabou is substituted for yellow.

  • Body - gold braided metallic tinsel (or gold tinsel chenille or flat gold tinsel ribbed with gold oval tinsel)
  • Underwing - grey squirrel tail fibers
  • Wings - mottled turkey quill
  • Collar - natural deer hair spun
  • Head - natural deer hair spun and clipped

Comments - This is probably the biggest producing streamer pattern in existence.

Rainbow Trout (Little)

  • Hook - streamer 6X sizes 4 - 12
  • Thread - black
  • Tail - bright green bucktail
  • Rib - flat silver tinsel
  • Body - pale pink rabbit dubbing wool yarn
  • Throat - orange bucktail
  • Wings - bucktail - bottom to top - white, pink, green with badger hair over the top
  • Cheeks - jungle cock eyes (optional)

Spruce (Light)

  • Hook - streamer 6X sizes 2 - 10
  • Thread - black
  • Tail - peacock sword fibers
  • Rib - fine copper wire
  • Body - rear 1/2 red wool yarn, front half peacock herl
  • Throat - orange bucktail
  • Wings - two cream badger hackles flared
  • Hackle - cream badger hackle as a collar

Supervisor

  • Hook - streamer 6X sizes 2 - 6
  • Thread - black
  • Tail - red wool yarn
  • Body - flat silver tinsel
  • Throat - white hackle fibers
  • Wings - white bucktail with four bight blue saddle hackles
  • Sides - two light bright green saddle hackles
  • Topping - peacock herl

Thunder Creek Rainbow Trout

  • Hook - Mustad 36620 - 2 - 10
  • Thread - red
  • Body - embossed silver tinsel
  • Wings - lateral stripe pink bucktail. Top brown portion of a dyed green bucktail, bottom white bucktail tied forward and pulled back to form head
  • Head - clear head cement with white eye and black pupil
