Prince

Comments - Weighted prince will incorporate several turns of soft lead wire. The bead head Prince nymph is best ties on a 2 or 3X dry fly hook to accomodate the bead head.

Quill Gordon

  • Hook - nymph 2X sizes 810- 14

  • Tail - two ringnech pheasant tail fibers
  • Rib - brown thread
  • Body - beaver belly fur (light to med-light grey)
  • Wingcase - mottled turkey wing quill

San Juan Worm - red

  • Hook - Tiemco 2457 or Mustad 80200 size 10
  • Thread - fl. red
  • Body - fl. red ultra chenlle with ends burned

Simulator-peacock

  • Hook - streamer 6X sizes 2 - 12
  • Thread - maroon
  • Tail - brown stripped goose forked
  • Rib - copper wire
  • Body - peacock herl
  • Hackle - fornace palmered over body and clipped

Ted's Stone

  • Hook - nymph 3X sizes 6 - 10

Tellico

Comments - Webby rooster hackles are easier to come by. Simply purchase a low grade rooster cape. The weighted version uses a few turns of soft lead wire.

White Larva (caddis)

  • Body - dirty white rabbit dubbing
  • Legs - brown partridge hackle
  • Head - dark brown rabbit dubbing

Zug Bug

  • Hook - standard nymph hook (1X long)

  • Tail - short peacock sword fibers
  • Body - peacock herl
  • Wingcase - lemon woodduck clipped short
  • Hackle - brown, usually beard style, but splayed.

Comments - One of the most popular nymph patterns going. Effective as described and tied in the bead-head manner. The wooduck flank wing case hes been replaced by mallard flank these days.
